Author & Storyteller
If you think this will be your typical information dump about me and my "early days" then, you're right. Ha! So, here I go. Hi, my name is Liz Concepcion, a New York born spicy Latina with a background in psychology and a penchant for storytelling. My books salsa within the walls of contemporary and paranormal romance, including The Lunar River Series and Color Me Sugar. With an MFA in creative writing and years in healthcare, I've spent the last eight years devouring and crafting Achillean romance during lunch breaks or after long days of being surrounded by humans.
What's Achillean you ask? It's just fancy talk for gay romance literature. The shut the door and close the blinds spicy kind of reading I did fueled my gripping characters. My poor creations deal with all sorts of trauma--substance abuse in my latest sequel, Safe Word Lobo, is just one example. I love to spotlight mental health, the LGBTQ community, and the many ways people cope; newsflash: they're no different from what the hetero world calls "normal."
My Latin sass lets me stir comedy, suspense, romance, and LGBTQ diversity into every story so I can watch my characters dive headfirst into their sexuality as they transform and grow.
When I'm not dipping my quill in ink, you can find me reading by the beach or watching anime with my kiddos. I'm also obsessed with language learning, scouting great cafes because my coffee addiction has me in a chokehold, and traveling to enrich my brain synapses. Okay, I must get back to finishing your next favorite book--unless my dog ate the manuscript. Oh wait, I don't have a dog...
